De-clutter is the best way to make your home look larger and, of course, neater.

First impressions are very important.

	Cut your shrubbery, keep the grass green and neat.
	Check the beds for weeds and debris.
	Are your driveways free of clutter and debris, and in good repair?
	Keep trash cans clear of the front of the house.
	Do you have pets? Use a real doggie bag, please

In the kitchen clear appliances that are not essential, remove anything that would make the counter tops look neat and spacious. Take photos and memos off the fridge for now.

Tidy up closets. Go through and pack out of season clothing and give away those size 4 dresses that you wore in high school.

Bathroom vanities can get awful messy. I really have to watch this as I get older. How many things can you put on your face? Pack and store extras.

Remove newspapers and old magazines from coffee and end tables.

 If you have excess furniture, store it ! It will dwarf your house.

Are you like me – you forget to water your indoor plants? Get rid of them ! Buy a few fresh ones if you like.

Garages, carports, bodegas are a catch all for JUNK ! Let it go.

Smell ! Does your house smell good? I do not mean when you spray with room deodorant.

Wash those dingy windows or hire someone to do it. It is a hard job and really needs two people - one in and one out.

Wipe out the inside of your cabinets and pantries. Do not forget the inside of your fridge. As I get older, it seems produce does not last as long. Do you have this problem?

Check for stains, mould, ugly caulking, and salitre.

Are you proud of your showers and tubs?

Is it your eyes--or is your mirror that dingy.

Get someone to polish your furniture and touch up scratches, etc.

Can you count the number of bugs in your light fixtures? No?

Let's talk about your area rugs. Is the fringe disgusting?

Keep the floors spotless.

Do the mosquitoes love your window screens for the easy access?

Leaky faucets send a signal. This person does not maintain this house!

Are all light bulbs burning? Not the time to save on electricity.

Are your shower curtains and towels neutral or cheap modern art?

Paint is the biggest, least expensive thing you can do to make your house look its best? How would you like to be shown without your paint?

Let a painter do it. You will save paint as they don’t spill as much.

 Don’t forget fresh flowers. Remember the word fresh.

 Look through decorator magazines and  see what simple things you can do to make your house more appealing.

Are your paintings tasteful, straight on the wall, need dusting ?
